How does Funds4uni work?

More than 8,000 students are now using Funds4Uni from easyfundraising to collect free cashback donations towards the cost of uni, including Pyschology student Davna who has raised over £900 so far.

How does Funds4Uni from easyfundraising work?

When you and your family use the easyfundraising website or app to shop online the retailer you shop with will send you free cashback donations towards your uni costs.

There are over 5000 shops and sites involved, including Amazon, eBay, Argos, Asos, H&M, Uber Eats, Viking, John Lewis & Partners, M&S, Waitrose, Trainline, Iceland, Apple and many more,

It’s completely free to use and what you buy won’t cost you a penny more. It’s just free cash from retailers you and your family are shopping with anyway.

You can use the money you raise to help with things like living costs and rent, travel expenses, course materials or tuition fees.

Davna’s story

How would you explain Funds4Uni from easyfundraising to other students?

It’s similar to a cashback site but it’s better because you can get your family to use it too and support you with their online shopping.

How have you raised over £900 so far?

My uncle realised that Viking, the retailer he buys most from for work, will donate so he started to use easyfundraising for work related purchases too and it’s built up a nice amount for my Funds4Uni cause!

I have 4 other supporters too who are family – I constantly remind them about going through easyfundraising whenever they buy stuff online!

What tips would you give to other students to help them raise as much as possible too?

Make sure to promote it – don’t be scared to post it on social media or nag your close friends and family as it really doesn’t cost them anything except two seconds of their time for purchases they are planning on making anyway!

I would also suggest reminding yourself to check easyfundraising for the retailers you shop with before making any online purchases so you can personally raise donations too.

How has the money you’ve raised so far helped you?

It goes into an account that I split evenly between savings and my “leisure costs”. With university presenting a whole new set of financial responsibilities like rent, bills and food expenses your money drains quickly.

It’s been useful to actually have some money I can put aside and save. It’s helped me a lot and has come in just as I’ve needed it when I’ve been struggling, helping me stay afloat.

Would you recommend it to other students?

My overall experience has been really good and I would definitely recommend it to others!
