What are Degree Apprenticeships?
In 2015, the government announced the introduction of the new Degree Apprenticeships programme. The Degree Apprenticeship is a way to study for a degree while working. Employers sponsor you to study at university level (typically attending one day a week) while at the same time you are receiving on the job, practical, vocational training from your employer. You will also be paid while you work. It may take you 4 – 5 years to get a degree, instead of the usual 3, but at the end of it you will have no student debt and 4-5 years’ work experience. You may also find that they offer you a permanent job.
